Bible Verse For The Day and Song
This week we will continue on the theme of practicing gratitude, with an opportunity each day to give thanks to God in three simple ways. Here is the link to Ian’s video message on Sunday 24th May: Hopefully Devoting To Prayer.
As we approach Pentecost this Sunday, our Bible verses this week focus upon what Jesus said about the Holy Spirit in John’s Gospel. This week Ian has chosen a selection of songs from his ‘lockdown playlist’ as our songs of praise.
The drawing below is from Christian artist, Charlie Mackesy, who wrote the book, ‘The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse.’ This book has become an award winning and international bestseller.

‘Thank you,’ said the mole. ‘For what?’ ‘You gave me back something I had lost.’ ‘What had you lost?’ ‘Wonder,’ said the horse.

Today, thank God for three moments of wonder you’ve experienced recently. Today’s verse is: John 7 v.37-39
On the last day of the festival, the great day, while Jesus was standing there, he cried out, ‘Let anyone who is thirsty come to me, and let the one who believes in me drink. As the scripture has said, ‘Out of the believer’s heart shall flow rivers of living water.’ Now he said this about the Spirit, which believers in him were to receive; for as yet there was no Spirit, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
John 7 v.37-39
