Wednesday 27 May: Bible Verse For The Day and Song

Bible Verse For The Day and Song

This week we will continue on the theme of practicing gratitude, with an opportunity each day to give thanks to God in three simple ways. Here is the link to Ian’s video message on Sunday 24th May: Hopefully Devoting To Prayer.

As we approach Pentecost this Sunday, our Bible verses this week focus upon what Jesus said about the Holy Spirit in John’s Gospel. This week Ian has chosen a selection of songs from his ‘lockdown playlist’ as our songs of praise.

The drawing below is from Christian artist, Charlie Mackesy, who wrote the book, ‘The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse.’  This book has become an award winning and international bestseller.

‘Thank you,’ said the mole. ‘For what?’  ‘You gave me back something I had lost.’  ‘What had you lost?’  ‘Wonder,’ said the horse.

Wednesday 27th May 2020

Today, thank God for three of your favourite Bible stories. Today’s verse is: John 14 v.16-17

And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, to be with you for ever. This is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, because he abides with you, and he will be in you.

John 14 v.16-17
