Thursday 28 May: Bible Verse For The Day and Song

Bible Verse For The Day and Song

This week we will continue on the theme of practicing gratitude, with an opportunity each day to give thanks to God in three simple ways. Here is the link to Ian’s video message on Sunday 24th May: Hopefully Devoting To Prayer.

As we approach Pentecost this Sunday, our Bible verses this week focus upon what Jesus said about the Holy Spirit in John’s Gospel. This week Ian has chosen a selection of songs from his ‘lockdown playlist’ as our songs of praise. Today’s song has made the greatest impact upon families and churches around the world at this time.

The drawing below is from Christian artist, Charlie Mackesy, who wrote the book, ‘The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse.’  This book has become an award winning and international bestseller.

‘Thank you,’ said the mole. ‘For what?’  ‘You gave me back something I had lost.’  ‘What had you lost?’  ‘Wonder,’ said the horse.

Thursday 28th May 2020

Today, thank God for your three favourite songs or hymns that have been a blessing to you during lockdown. Today’s verse is: John 14 v.26

But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything, and remind you of all that I have said to you.

John 14 v.26
