The Bible Course: Wednesdays 13th May till 1st July

The Bible Course (via Zoom)

The Bible Course | 7.30-9pm | Every Wednesday 13th May – 1st July | The Rectory (via Zoom)

From Wednesday 13th May, Ian is going to be running the Bible Course. It will run over eight Wednesday evenings, from Wednesday 13th May to Wednesday 1st July. It will run from 7.30pm till around 9pm, from The Rectory (via Zoom.)

I’ve often said, the best way to grow and mature in your faith is by reading and reflecting upon the Bible. As we live through this pandemic, I am finding the Bible has become even more relevant to today. It gives us a wonderful path of life to model and follow. Yet for many of us, myself included, we can find parts of the Bible hard to understand.

Revd. Ian Pallent

The Bible Course is an easy to understand, interactive resource from The Bible Society. It involves watching a teaching series of short videos followed by group discussion. The course aims to:

  • Help you see how the books of the Bible are part of one big story
  • Show you how key events, books and characters fit together
  • Help you grow in confidence as you read the Bible for yourself

This course has given me a whole new feeling about the Bible. It used to seem inaccessible and dull. But now I have understood the context and background of the Bible, I am a lot more confident to read it for myself.

We ran this course nearly two years ago, but Ian feels now is the right time to offer the opportunity again. The Bible Course is suitable both for those with small amounts of Bible knowledge and for more mature Christians wanting to increase their understanding of the Bible.

If you would like to take part (or just come along to try the first few sessions) please email the Church Office for a link to join the Zoom Meeting. Ian will get in touch with you individually with more details.
