Matthew 16 v.13-19

|  Sermon by Revd. Ian Pallent at St. Ouen’s Parish Church, Jersey

What is the Church? What is the calling of the Church today in this emerging ‘new normal?’ What is the Church’s identity? Why is there a Church?

This new series starts a new season, as we adjust and (hopefully) continue to move out of Covid. It looks at emerging questions of ‘what is church’ and ‘what it means to be church.’ Today’s sermon takes us back to the first century, from the gospel of Matthew – and looks at Jesus’ calling to Peter, and the meaning and identity of ‘church’ in the Bible.
