St Ouens Church Weekend with guest speaker Sheridan Voysey

St. Ouens Church Weekend with Sheridan Voysey

Friday 15th – Sunday 17th November 2019

St Ouens Church Weekend is now booked for Friday 15th to Sunday 17th November at The Hotel Ambassadeur, St. Clements Bay!

The guest speaker will be Sheridan Voysey. Sheridan is a speaker at large Christian events, such as Spring Harvest. He is an author and a broadcaster, regularly appearing on Radio 2’s Thought for the Day. For more details about Sheridan, visit Sheridan Voysey’s Website.

This is a great opportunity to build and deepen community together and we hope that as many people as possible from all three congregations, young and old, can attend. If you have not booked yet, and you and/or your family would like to St Ouens Church Weekend, please speak to Ian or Kate as soon as possible. Although rooms may be unavailable at this stage, church members and their friends and family, will be most welcome to attend during the day.

Financial donations welcome – but entirely optional

The Surveillants have decided to underwrite the cost St Ouens Church Weekend to ensure that everyone is able to attend. We are delighted that over 100 people have committed to the weekend. We look forward to sharing a fabulous time of teaching, worship and ‘being church’ together.

However, in order to ensure the Surveillants can demonstrate good stewardship of available resources, if possible may some of those attending, who do not need to take up the subsidy, consider making a gift to the Church, in lieu of paying for the weekend.

Any such gift is of course entirely voluntary. If you would like to make such a gift, as a reference, the cost of attending the weekend to include all food is £125 per adult individual or £370 per family of 4 occupying two rooms. A Day Delegate rate (i.e. if you are not staying overnight but are eating with us) has yet to be confirmed, but we estimate will cost £30 per person to cover food costs etc.

As a further reminder, if you are a Jersey tax payer and you make a gift of more than £50, please consider completing a tax reclaim form as this will allow the church to claim an additional 25% from the Comptroller of Taxes turning your £50 into £62.50.
