The Archbishop’s Commission Jersey
What does a healthy relationship with the mainland Church look like?
The Archbishop’s Commission Jersey | 17-18 May 2019 | Jersey
The Archbishop’s Commission Jersey, is taking place on 17th-18th May 2019, to look at the relationships between the Islands and the wider Church of England.
During this time, a special meeting of Deanery Synod Representatives will be convened at the Town Church on the evening of Friday 17th May, at which the Commission can hear the representative voice of the Anglican Church in Jersey.
In preparation for the meeting, the Dean has asked Jersey Church Members to spend some time reflecting on the question ‘What does a healthy relationship with the mainland Church look like?’ Answers to this question will be the focus of the Commission’s work. Please send your responses to Rosemary Ruddy before Friday 5th April so that she can prepare a draft response for the Commission.
A submission document from Guernsey Deanery Synod, on this subject, was given last year. Guernsey’s document was debated and also passed by the Jersey Deanery Synod last year. This joint document has been submitted to the Archbishop of Canterbury, as an initial part of this process.
For further information, on any of the above, please contact our Deanery Synod Rep, Rosemary Ruddy. (Church Members may obtain Rosemary’s email address via the Church Office, if necessary.)
